The Role
Are you a Social Worker who wants to work where your professional judgement, values and relationships truly matter?
Do you want to be part of a team recognised by CQC for strong partnership working and good practice?
Do you believe in protecting people’s rights, promoting independence and supporting individuals to live the lives they choose?
If so, this could be the perfect role for you.
We are looking for a Social Worker to join Bolton’s Adult Safeguarding Team within the Multi Agency Screening and Safeguarding Service. You will play a vital role in responding to safeguarding concerns, completing Section 42 enquiries and ensuring a rights based, person centred approach in line with the Care Act 2014.
You will be part of a fast paced and varied service where you work with people at the earliest point of concern. You will carry out visits across a range of settings including people’s homes, care homes, supported living and other environments. You will listen to people’s experiences, gather insight and plan next steps with them and with partner agencies. You will have the opportunity to build relationships quickly, explore what matters to each person and use your professional judgement to balance risk, rights and independence.
You will work closely with health colleagues, the police, provider services and other partners through strong multi agency arrangements. You will help ensure that safeguarding is coordinated, proportionate and centred on the wishes and outcomes of the individual. Although the work can be complex, you will not manage situations in isolation. You will be supported by clear pathways, experienced colleagues and regular opportunities for reflection and shared decision making.
This is meaningful and hands on safeguarding practice where your decisions genuinely shape what happens next. You will be part of a small, skilled and reflective team that works collaboratively, shares learning and values one another’s strengths. You will be joining a committed and supportive group who are proud of their contribution to Bolton’s positive CQC findings. We value curiosity, empathy, professional autonomy and shared learning, and we place the voice and wishes of the person at the centre of every safeguarding conversation.
About You
If you are someone who cares about people’s safety, rights and wellbeing, you will thrive in this role. You will bring curiosity, empathy and a calm approach to complex situations. You will be able to communicate well with individuals, families and partner agencies, and you will feel confident building relationships quickly.
You will have a sound understanding of adult safeguarding and the Care Act and be confident using your professional judgement to explore concerns and support informed decision making. You will be organised, reflective and able to manage a varied workload, valuing the support and challenge of working as part of a collaborative team.
The role is based at Castle Hill Children’s Centre. Flexible and hybrid working is available, however much of the work is carried out in person across community settings..
If you enjoy varied work, feel comfortable in a fast paced environment and want a role where your skills and values make a real difference, we would welcome your application. We are happy to receive applications from experienced Social Workers and from students who are in their final placement and due to qualify within the next six months.
