We have an exciting 12 month fixed term contract to provide maternity cover as a Principal Legal Assistant vacancy within our Professional Standards team.
Our Professional Standards team supports key work across Ombudsman complaints, Whistleblowing and Serious Misconduct and Member standards complaints. An important role ensuring compliance across all of the Council’s service areas.
You will manage and progress a varied caseload, providing advice, undertaking research, and ensuring cases are handled efficiently and in line with required procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing and progressing complaints and investigation casework
- Providing advice, research, and preparing correspondence
- Liaising with internal teams and external bodies
- Supporting reports, outcomes, and service improvements
Skills required
- Degree-level education or equivalent experience in a legal/regulatory environment
- Experience handling casework or complaints processes
- Strong communication, organisational, and research skills
- Ability to work independently and manage challenging situations professionally
