We are seeking a proactive and organised PSL Support Officer to play a key role in the management of the Council’s Private Sector Leasing (PSL) property portfolio within Temporary Accommodation.

The role supports the effective delivery of temporary accommodation, ensuring properties are safe, suitable, and available to meet statutory homelessness duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor a portfolio of PSL properties, ensuring they remain compliant with contractual, health & safety, and legislative requirements.
  • Act as a key point of contact for landlords and managing agents, building effective working relationships.
  • Ensure all compliance documentation (e.g. gas, electrical, fire safety, EPC, HMO where applicable) is obtained, recorded, monitored, and kept up to date.
  • Support the letting team, withdrawal, replacement, and return of PSL properties in line with contractual terms and service processes.
  • Accurately maintain and update property, and compliance data on housing management systems, ensuring records are complete, timely, and auditable.
  • Monitor repairs and maintenance performance, escalating concerns where works are not completed within agreed timescales.
  • Support service improvements, audits and reviews relating to PSL properties.
  • Ensure safeguarding and health & safety concerns are identified, reported, and managed in line with council procedures.

About You

You will have experience of working within housing, temporary accommodation, or private sector leasing, with a strong understanding of compliance, landlord liaison, and property management. You will be highly organised, confident in dealing with external providers, and comfortable managing data and systems.

You will also demonstrate:

  • Strong attention to detail and a clear understanding of property compliance requirements
  • The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment
  • Confident communication skills with landlords, agents, colleagues, and partner agencies
  • A commitment to safeguarding and delivering safe, suitable accommodation
