We are seeking a motivated and delivery-focused Senior Transport Project Delivery Officer to join our team. You will play a key role in the successful delivery of transport and public realm projects that improve connectivity, safety, and sustainability across Birmingham. Working as part of a dynamic transport team, you will support the planning, coordination, and delivery of a range of projects – from early design through to implementation on site.
About the Role
We are looking for experienced and motivated Senior Transport Delivery Officers to join our Transport Projects team.
In this key role, you will help shape and deliver transport and infrastructure schemes that support the city’s growth and connectivity. Working across a diverse portfolio, you’ll manage projects from concept through to delivery—ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the development, design, and delivery of transport projects
- Oversee multiple projects, ensuring quality, cost, programme, and risk controls are maintained
- Prepare and manage business cases, project documentation, and contract arrangements
- Monitor and report on project finances and performance
- Work collaboratively with internal teams, contractors, developers, and external partners
- Develop and review scheme designs and transport assessments
- Plan and deliver public and stakeholder consultation activities
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, CDM regulations, and governance processes
- Contribute to continuous improvement and professional development
About You
You will bring a strong blend of technical expertise, project management capability, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience delivering transport and infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of project lifecycle management (cost, programme, risk)
- Experience preparing and reviewing technical designs and assessments
- Knowledge of CDM Regulations and Principal Designer responsibilities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
