This is an exciting opportunity to join a large, dynamic, and collaborative Quality Assurance and Testing (QAT) team dedicated to delivering high-quality digital services. We are passionate about creating reliable, user-centred software that delivers real value to our colleagues and the citizens of Birmingham.
As a Quality Assurance & Test Engineer, you will play a key role in improving product quality and delivery by supporting a wide range of testing and assurance activities. Birmingham City Council’s scale makes this one of the most impactful QA roles in local government, offering significant responsibility and excellent opportunities for professional growth as we work towards becoming a best-in-class digital service organisation.
About the Team
We are the Digital and Technology Services Quality Assurance and Test Team, responsible for assuring the quality of digital, data, and technology deliverables across major programmes and projects.
This is a particularly exciting time to join us. As we expand our in-house digital product development capability and implement new low-code platforms, you will help shape how quality is embedded into modern delivery.
We are evolving towards a lean, agile, and automation-driven approach to QA, investing in tooling and practices that enable faster, smarter testing. Working within multidisciplinary teams, we collaborate closely with service users to co-design and deliver services that make a meaningful difference to Birmingham’s communities.
