The Ladywood Regeneration “Meanwhile Offer” places neighbourhood management at the heart of creating safe, stable, and well-managed communities throughout the regeneration period. Alongside the Resident & Community Charter, it commits the Council to a visible on-the-ground presence, stronger community capacity, effective communication, enhanced estate standards, and comprehensive resident support.

We are seeking a dedicated Housing Officer to lead this approach within the Ladywood Regeneration area. This pivotal role will act as the operational link between residents, regeneration teams, and council services, ensuring a coordinated and responsive neighbourhood management presence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a consistent on-site presence, leading neighbourhood management activity across Ladywood
  • Coordinate estate walkabouts, address environmental issues, and respond proactively to resident concerns
  • Manage core housing functions including tenancy management, anti-social behaviour (ASB) casework, safeguarding, and tenancy sustainment
  • Identify and support vulnerable residents, working closely with third sector and community partners
  • Collaborate with Asset Management to ensure homes remain safe and habitable, particularly in relation to repairs, damp and mould, and compliance
  • Work in partnership with community safety, health, and voluntary organisations to provide wrap-around support and prevent escalation of issues
  • Serve as a single point of contact for delivering the housing-related elements of the Meanwhile Offer
Resident Engagement & Impact

You will play a key role in building trust and confidence within the community by:

  • Leading resident engagement through surgeries, home visits, and community forums
  • Supporting delivery of the Resident & Community Charter
  • Addressing concerns early, transparently, and effectively to manage reputational and operational risk
About the Role

This is a high-impact, visible position that will stabilise the neighbourhood during a time of significant change. Your work will help ensure that regeneration progresses with the confidence of residents, underpinned by trust, strong relationships, and effective local management.
