Assistant Registration Services Manager

Permanent

Grade D - £45,091 – £53,460 

Consultation grade - subject to formal evaluation under the Equal Pay Programme

Working 36.5 hours per week (includes occasional weekends and on-call responsibilities)

 

We are seeking an experienced and highly organised operations manager to support the management of a busy, high-profile city centre Register Office. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the safe, compliant and financially robust operation of the service. You will lead on buildings management, health & safety compliance, financial oversight and project delivery, supporting a large customer-facing service operating at pace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee building maintenance, repairs and contractor management
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation and maintain risk assessments
  • Monitor income, reconcile financial records and support budget management
  • Lead operational projects and service improvements
  • Manage compliance frameworks, audits and governance processes
  • Support leadership of a multidisciplinary team

Skills & Abilities 

  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial and operational data
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and make sound operational decisions
