Do you want to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), and their families?
In this rewarding role within the SENAR Service, you will lead on statutory processes related to Education, Health and Care (EHC) needs assessments, acting as the named officer for a caseload of children and young people.
Drawing on your knowledge of SEND, you will ensure that parent carers, children, young people, and professionals are provided with clear and accessible information. This will support informed decision-making at each stage, whether to proceed with an assessment and, where appropriate, whether to issue an EHC Plan.
Using your expertise in interpreting professional advice and report writing, you will produce high-quality EHC Plans that accurately reflect individual needs and clearly set out the provision required to help children and young people achieve their ambitions and outcomes.
With strong communication skills and a person-centred approach, you will ensure that the child or young person remains at the heart of all decisions. You will build shared understanding of processes and outcomes, while maintaining compliance with statutory requirements and local procedures within required timescales.
