Help Drive Change Through Communication

We’re looking for a talented Communications Executive to join our ambitious communications team and help deliver one of the council’s key transformation programmes in Waste.

This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and strategic communicator to lead impactful campaigns that engage residents, influence behaviour and support service transformation. You’ll play a key role in protecting and enhancing the council’s reputation through compelling storytelling, digital communications and effective stakeholder engagement.

What You’ll Do

You will:

  • Support the planning, delivery and evaluation of communications campaigns aligned to council priorities
  • Create engaging content and clear messaging across digital, media and internal channels
  • Use audience insight and research to target communications effectively
  • Support media relations, reputation management and proactive storytelling
  • Deliver digital-first campaigns across web, email and social media
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, elected members and partners to maximise impact
  • Ensure campaigns are delivered on time, on budget and with measurable outcomes

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a confident communications professional with:

  • Experience delivering successful communications or marketing campaigns
    Strong writing, storytelling and content creation skills
  • Knowledge of digital communications, media relations and social media
    The ability to use insight and data to shape effective campaigns Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
    A collaborative approach and passion for meaningful public engagement
