Grade A £24,796 - £27,254 - Salary is pro rata to the hours worked
Consultation grade - subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review
Working 10 hours - Monday to Friday 2 hours per day 11:45am - 13:45pm
Location: Longwill School for Deaf Children, Bell Hill, Birmingham B31 1LD
Cityserve provide fresh and nutritious food for school kitchens across the UK. Healthy eating is a continuous theme throughout all of our menus and we are committed to the wellbeing of pupils. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a busy environment, loves working with people and is able to play a key role in supporting team members. This General Assistant role is part of ‘Cityserve’ - Birmingham City Councils multi- award winning catering service for school meals.
The Role
As a General Assistant your responsibilities will include:
- Assist in the preparation of cooking meals for pupils
- Assist keeping the kitchen clean and tidy
- Washing up, sweeping and mopping
- Set up dining areas
- Put out furniture
- Be aware of pupils needs, dietary and allergen requirements
- Attend training sessions and online sessions where needed
- Work collaboratively with managers and supervisors both in and outside of performance times.

- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Food Safety Level 2
