We are seeking a senior, delivery focused leader to head up this critical income and debt service at a time of significant change. As Head of Sundry and Adult Social Care Collection, you will lead the strategic and operational delivery of sundry debt and Adult Social Care collections. This role will play a key part in the transition of these services into the Revenues and Benefits portfolio, helping to align the service, strengthen controls and embed consistent, high performing collection practices across your portfolio.

You’ll drive performance, maximise income, modernise collection and recovery processes as well as lead and motivate a large workforce through the improved use of data, digital solutions and strong financial governance. You'll ensure our customer journeys are exemplary and that the service provides best value to the residents and businesses of Birmingham.   

You will bring:

  • Senior leadership experience in collections, debt recovery or income services
  • A strong track record of improving performance and delivering service transformation
  • Experience managing complex budgets and leading large teams
  • Confidence working through organisational change
  • A customer‑focused, data‑led and commercially minded approach

This is a fantastic opportunity for either an experienced Head of Service, or someone looking to make that next career step. You'll also be an integral part of the service senior leadership team and contribute to the overall running of the service.
