About the Role
Are you highly organised, adaptable, and ready to make a real impact in one of Birmingham City Council’s busiest directorates?
We are looking for a motivated Property Search Officer to join the Place, Prosperity and Sustainability (PPS) Highways Searches Team.
As a key member of the Highway Searches Team, you will play an essential role in helping the service run smoothly and efficiently.
- Collect, record and maintain Highway and Transport data.
- Respond to Local Land Charges and CON29 Highways searches
- Manage the Highways Searches mailboxes
- This is a full‑time hybrid role, working 36.5 hours per week, with a mix of working from home and office at the Council House, Birmingham.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has a working knowledge of highways matters, experience of Geographical Information System within a highways environment
- Can deliver a customer focussed service within agreed timescales
- Has the ability to interpret maps, plans, and related reports effectively and accurately.
- Can investigate, analyse and report on data to meet deadlines and performance targets.
- Can stay calm, organised and solution‑focused under pressure
- Communicates clearly and confidently (verbal and written)
- Has strong IT skills and a proactive approach to learning, including developing new digital skills to drive continuous improvement
- Works well with others and contributes to a supportive team culture
