We are looking to recruit an experienced Senior Contract Manager / Senior Supplier Relationship Management to join our Digital, Technology & Services (DTS) directorate. This is a key commercial role responsible for managing a portfolio of high‑value digital, data and technology contracts and building strong, effective relationships with suppliers to ensure value for money and excellent service delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and overseeing a portfolio of digital, data and technology contracts and suppliers
- Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships and strategic partnerships
- Monitoring contract performance to ensure compliance, quality, value for money and cost control
- Leading on contract variations, statements of work and contractual documentation, ensuring risks are mitigated
- Providing professional commercial and contract management advice to senior stakeholders across the Council
- Managing contract changes, renewals and lifecycle activity in line with strategic and operational priorities
- Leading and resolving contractual and commercial disputes while maintaining effective working relationships
About you:
- Significant experience in contract and commercial management, ideally within the public sector
- Strong knowledge of digital, IT, data or technology contracts and supplier management
- Proven ability to manage complex contracts, budgets and supplier relationships
- Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation and influencing skills
- Confident producing high‑quality reports and advising senior managers
- Analytical, commercial and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, evolving environment
- Experience using contract and performance management systems (e.g. ServiceNow, Oracle or similar)
- Relevant professional qualification or equivalent experience (e.g. CIPS, MCIPS, IACCM, CIMA desirable)
