Are you passionate about housing and motivated to make a real difference for homeless families? If so, this is a great opportunity to join our Temporary Accommodation Service and support some of Birmingham’s most vulnerable residents.

With over 5,000 households currently living in temporary accommodation across a diverse property portfolio, the Housing Solutions & Support Service is experiencing unprecedented demand. We’re looking for committed, proactive individuals who want to help families move forward into safe, secure, and permanent homes.

What You’ll Be Doing

As part of our team, you’ll guide households through every stage of their Temporary Accommodation journey. Your work will include:

  • Carrying out welcome visits and annual tenancy reviews
  • Supporting families to secure long‑term housing through Social Housing or the Private Rented Sector
  • Empowering residents to overcome barriers and take positive steps toward resolving their housing situation
  • Ensuring licence conditions are met, including taking enforcement action when necessary

This role blends support, problem solving, and accountability — ideal for someone who can balance empathy with clear expectations.

What We’re Looking For

  • An understanding of tenancy management, homelessness legislation, or welfare benefits
  • Confidence travelling across Birmingham and surrounding boroughs
  • Strong IT skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast paced, high pressure environment
  • Above all, a can‑do attitude, resilience, and a genuine commitment to helping people rebuild their lives

If you’re ready to take on a role that’s challenging, meaningful, and deeply rewarding, we’d love to hear from you.

Please upload an up-to-date CV and Supporting Statement via the attachments part of your application.  The Supporting Statement should outline how you meet the criteria for the role through your personal qualities, skills and experience and include your motivation for applying to the post.  Note the Personal Statement should be no more than 1500 words.  Unfortunately, we cannot consider any applications without a CV and Personal Statement attached
