Working 36.5 hours per week

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Leasehold and Home Ownership Team.  We are committed in providing a customer focused leasehold management service, and process efficiently Right to Buy applications in line with legislation. Birmingham City Council oversees the management of over 6500 leaseholders and 59,000 Council tenants. 

We are looking for a dedicated individual who can take responsibility for the effective delivery of the Home Ownership Service. As a Home Ownership Officer, you will be responsible for Home Sales, Services Charges, Major Works consultation and S20, RTB, Arrears, Estate Management, line management, customer enquiries, complaints, and ensure compliance with statutory timescales and legislation. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a strong track record of effectively managing a variety of tasks whilst maintaining service standards and remaining customer focused. 

The successful candidate must have strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and possess excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing. The ability to work accurately with data and written communication and possess experience in using and maintaining in-house office systems with a drive to improve operational processes and create efficiencies for the team. 

The successful candidate will be expected to assist and support the implementation of new or amended working procedures and have knowledge of current RTB legislation and the Landlord and Tenant Act, whilst keeping up to date on legislative changes.
