About The Role
About the role:
You will be responsible for a high caseload which will vary in complexity from complaint to resolution. You will work as part of a friendly team, providing your professional expertise on matters related to planning enforcement. Your duties will include the investigation of reported breaches of planning control from receipt to conclusion, resolving issues by negotiation, serving of formal notices, preparation of appeal cases and compliance; and project work where required. You will assist colleagues in the team and wider team in carrying out their day-to-day work where required, reporting directly to the Planning Enforcement Manager on all related planning enforcement matters.
The post is a permanent position within the Development Management Service.

Candidate Profile
It is desirable that the successful candidate would have a first degree or equivalent that would allow entry onto RTPI accredited postgraduate degree with Eligible for Membership of RTPI or RICS (Planning & Development) and it is essential that the candidate can demonstrate relevant Continuing Professional Development (CPD) of relevant technical experience and knowledge required for the role. The successful candidate will be an effective communicator in writing and verbally in their interactions with the Public, Members and other stakeholders that use the Planning Enforcement Service and be an effective decision maker in seeking to resolve reported breaches of planning control.
