About the Role
Basildon Borough Council is looking for a proactive and highly organised IT and Digital Service Support Officer to join our IT & Digital Services team.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting procurement, contract management, and project administration within a forward-thinking digital service. You will work closely with team leaders and the Digital Contracts and Procurement Manager to ensure the smooth delivery of contracts, financial processes, and legislative compliance.
About what/ who we are looking for
- Provide high-quality administrative and project support across IT & Digital Services.
- Support procurement processes, including raising orders and processing invoices in line with financial regulations.
- Manage legislative requests from end-to-end (e.g. Freedom of Information, Subject Access Requests, Environmental Information Regulations).
- Work with the Information Governance team to ensure compliance with legal and data protection requirements.
- Assist with performance reporting, contract monitoring, and financial administration.
- Coordinate meetings, workshops, and project-related activities.
We are looking for someone who is
- Highly organised with a strong attention to detail.
- An excellent communicator, able to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Experienced in handling data, records, and reporting processes.
- Knowledgeable about local government structures and legislative requirements (desirable).
- Able to analyse information, solve problems, and manage competing priorities.
- A collaborative team player with a flexible and adaptable approach.
