Basildon’s Revenues and Benefits are a nationally recognised award winning service. We are responsible for the billing and collection of Council Tax, Business Rates and Sundry Debtors, and we administer the Housing Benefit scheme and Local Council Tax Support and Reduction schemes.

Our Outreach and Engagement Officers play a key role in supporting residents in debt, rent arrears, tenancy, and health and wellbeing matters.  While some customers self-refer, the role involves working with key partners to provide early intervention, utilising social prescribing software to manage the resident’s journey.

We are looking for someone who has a sound knowledge of available benefits, discretionary payments, financial and well-being support. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and an effective team player, with excellent customer care and communication skills.  This post will be 18.125 per week, essentially half day on Wednesday, and full days on Thursday and Friday.

If you would like to be part of the team’s success, we look forward to receiving your application.
