Lead the transformation shaping how Basildon Borough Council designs, delivers, and elevates services for the future.

Basildon Borough Council is driving forward an ambitious Customer, Digital, and Transformation Strategy, and we are seeking a Business Design Manager who can combine strategic leadership with practical, hands-on delivery. This role is ideal for a highly motivated professional who can shape long-term direction andpersonally lead the work that turns ideas into real, measurable improvements across the Council on delivery. Operating at the centre of our transformation agenda, you will head up Business Design and Transformation, Digital and Customer Success, and Digital Channels and Customer Experience. Unlike roles that focus purely on strategy, this post requires someone who is equally confident facilitating workshops, mapping processes, redesigning customer journeys, implementing automation, collaborating on digital solutions, and supporting teams through change. Your work will directly influence how the Council functions, improves, and delivers for residents.

You will work closely with senior leaders, service managers, external partners, and frontline teams to drive change that is innovative, customer centric, data driven, and actionable.
