Following creation of a new post, we have an opportunity for an experienced and hard working individual to contribute to the work of the Environmental Protection team responding to a variety of issues across the borough. Your duties will include investigation and response to complaints in relation to alleged Statutory Nuisances, public health and pest control; provision of advice to residents, businesses and other stakeholders across a range of similar issues; and, assisting council colleagues and partner agencies achieve their aims (e.g. Planning, Empty Homes and Licensing).
Ideally, you will have previous experience of working in a local government enforcement environment, which will include a working knowledge in the practical application of relevant environmental protection legislation such as the Environmental Protection Act 1990. Your skills will include excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to work with residents, businesses and colleagues as well as a range of related agencies.
