Basildon Borough Council is seeking a Customer Support Team Leader to ensure the smooth and effective delivery of day-to-day I.T and Digital operations. This is a hands-on role where you will lead a small team, take ownership of complex issues, and work directly with users, suppliers, and colleagues to maintain stable, resilient, and responsive I.T and Digital services. You will need to take ownership of issues resolution, processes and procedures. today Ion role where you will lead a small team, take ownership of complex issues, and work directly with users, suppliers, and colleagues to maintain stable, resilient, and responsive.
In this role, you won’t just manage workflows — you’ll be actively involved in resolving problems, supporting colleagues face to face, and coordinating with the Council’s managed service provider to maintain high service standards. You will also work across the entire I.T and Digital team, collaborating with colleagues in security, infrastructure, digital services, customer success, and solutions development to deliver excellent outcomes for council staff, service areas, and ultimately, for residents.
Whether you’re supporting major incident response, helping implement I.T and Digital improvement projects, guiding service areas through operational challenges, or contributing to cyber security activities, you will play a key part in ensuring that I.T and Digital services directly support the Council’s ability to deliver for the community.
