Contract Type and Hours: Full time, permanent (36.25 hour per week)

About the Role
We are seeking a committed and proactive Temporary Accommodation Officer to join our Housing Choice service.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing the placement of homeless households into interim and temporary accommodation, ensuring properties are suitable, safe, and deliver value for money. You will also manage ongoing cases, including tenancy management and supporting households to move into more permanent housing.
You will work closely with a range of internal teams and external partners, ensuring that residents receive appropriate support while the Council meets its statutory homelessness duties.
About what/ who we are looking for
- Experience working in housing, homelessness, or a related public sector environment
- Up-to-date knowledge of homelessness legislation, housing law, and welfare/benefits systems
- Understanding of housing options and support services for vulnerable residents
- Ability to manage a varied caseload including complex cases
- Strong communication and partnership skills
- Confidence in decision-making and risk management
- Commitment to equality, safeguarding, and customer service
