Location:This post is mainly based on site in our Sheltered Housing Schemes – one day home working per week where possible

Contract Type and Hours: 36.25 hours per week (Monday – Friday  9am to 5.15pm)

The Role:

An opportunity has arisen for hard working individual to work within Basildon Councils Sheltered Housing Department. As a Housing Officer (Sheltered) you will be assisting tenants and leaseholders with housing related support. This is a key role is delivering the councils commitment to safeguarding our older vulnerable residents and promoting health and independent living for as long as possible.

The main duty is to provide our tenants and leaseholders with a cost-effective, high-quality housing related support service. This will include identifying additional support services that may be required as our residents needs change, making referrals to other agencies if necessary and identifying any safeguarding issues for our vulnerable residents.

Basildon Council has 47 sheltered housing schemes across the borough which include 3 Leasehold schemes. 

You must have the ability to travel around the borough to provide cover in different areas if/when necessary.
