Clinical Manager (MHST)
London Borough of Barnet
An exciting opportunity has arisen for two highly experienced clinicians to join the BICS Management Team in Clinical Manager roles. BICS (Barnet’s Integrated Clinical Service) is a multidisciplinary mental health service supporting children, young people and their families with mild to moderate mental health difficulties across the borough in education, community and children’s social care settings. BICS sits within Barnet’s Family Services, working closely with our multi-agency colleagues. We are looking to recruit two Clinical Managers to jointly lead our dynamic MDT of clinicians linked to the West Hub’s Child and Family Early Help team. One role will focus on leading on the Mental Health Support Team (MSHT) elements of the MDT as we expand our MHST provision, with the other focussed on supporting our mixed modality practitioners, including CWPs (Children and Young People’s Wellbeing Practitioners), Psychologists, Systemic Family Therapists Integrative Psychotherapists, Creative Therapists and CBT Therapists. Working as part of our wider BICS management team across all Child and Family Early Help Hubs, Children’s Social Care and Early Years Parenting Hub teams.
Are you already an experienced manager and supervisor, or if you have management and/or supervisory experience and are looking for an opportunity to stretch yourself and develop additional skills, this could be the role for you.
You will have a proven track record within child and adolescent mental health; sound knowledge and experience of cognitive behavioural therapies/systemic psychotherapies and/or other evidence-based therapies; sound knowledge of the functions of an MHST; and the experience and ability to provide high quality clinical supervision and line management to the team. Working in partnership with key stakeholders and partners, you will bring your creativity, flexibility, and enthusiasm to jointly lead on the MHST provision across the borough, wider MDT, service development, evaluation, and improvement to ensure that children and young people in Barnet benefit from integrated, responsive, and accessible mental health and wellbeing services. You will have the continued support of the wider BICS management team as you step into this role, as well as the potential opportunity to apply and enrol through UCL on their Leadership in CYP mental health services post graduate certificate which begins in the January 2027 (application can be found on the UCL website).
