About the role

Housing Regulatory Services covers all aspects of housing enforcement work. In this role you will be one of the lead officers working to improve fire safety and housing conditions in tower blocks across the borough. Working in partnership with the relevant departments and organisations you will be required to undertake investigations and take appropriate enforcement action to ensure the safety of residents in these complex blocks. Whilst this is now an established inspection program post Grenfell, a suitably competent and driven officer is required to continue to move this program of enforcement work forwards whilst keeping abreast of the legal changes in this evolving enforcement landscape.

About you

Experienced in completing Housing Health and Safety Risk assessments under the Housing Act 2004 and identifying hazards for Fire, you will have a good understanding of the issues caused by combustible cladding and experience of identifying them. Unphased by large property inspections, drafting complex legal documents and schedules of work, you will be an experienced housing enforcement professional, able to progress complex cases in a timely manner accurately and in accordance with the relevant legislation and guidelines.
