Youth Offending Team Officer

Barnet Youth Offending Service is seeking to recruit a Youth Offending Team Officers, who have experience of statutory work with young people and their families. This is a fixed term contract for up to 36 months.
A key component of the job role is experience of working within the context of Youth Justice Board’s National Standards, Youth Court, Case Management and good practice models, which underpin core youth justice practice. In addition to this, an understanding of research-based theories related to children, young people and family intervention would be beneficial to working within our holistic and systemic model of practice.
The successful candidates will be skilled in engaging, assessing and delivering interventions designed to support young people to build personal resilience and move away from further offending. In view of Barnet Youth Justice Service following a holistic model of practice, there is an expectation that Youth Justice Service YJS Officers can evidence sound risk assessment skills and safeguarding knowledge. Barnet Youth Justice Service has developed a strong ethic around multi-agency practice and this will require you to be a keen team player who has the ability to work effectively in partnership with other agencies, in order to improve the life chances of young people in Barnet.
