About the role
We have an exciting opportunity to join the Mental Health Social Work Team in Barnet, contributing to high‑quality, person‑centred support for adults experiencing complex mental health needs. You’ll be part of a skilled and collaborative service where professional development, reflective practice, and strong partnership working sit at the heart of what we do.
In this role, you will:
- Carry out statutory duties under the Care Act 2014, including strengths‑based assessments, support planning, and safeguarding adults’ enquiries.
- Undertake risk assessments and develop robust risk‑management plans in partnership with multidisciplinary colleagues.
- Work closely with health partners, voluntary sector organisations, and community groups to ensure seamless, integrated care.
- Contribute to Mental Health Act processes where appropriate and provide specialist social work input within clinical pathways.
- Champion recovery‑focused, trauma‑informed, and culturally responsive practice.
Key requirements:
- A recognised Social Work qualification and Social Work England registration.
- Strong understanding of mental health legislation, safeguarding frameworks, and strengths‑based practice.
- Experience working with adults with complex mental health needs, or transferable skills from similar settings.
- Ability to work collaboratively, manage risk confidently, and maintain high professional standards.
- Commitment to reflective practice, continuous learning, and delivering person‑centred support.
