<p data-start="19" data-end="467">Reporting to the Service Lead – Fleet and Workshop, the Fleet and Workshop Support Officer will provide essential administrative and operational support to ensure the effective management of the council’s fleet and workshop services. The role supports the administration of the council’s operator licence requirements and the maintenance of council vehicles and plant, ensuring services remain safe, reliable, cost effective, and legally compliant.</p> <p data-start="469" data-end="829">You will act as the key interface between the Fleet Department and vehicle users, supporting frontline services through effective communication, coordination, and customer service. Responsibilities include the day to day management of driver assessments, training courses, licence checks, audits, and maintaining accurate records and regular reporting updates.</p> <p data-start="831" data-end="1379" data-is-last-node="" data-is-only-node="">The postholder will also be responsible for raising and maintaining workshop job cards on the Fleet and Workshop IT system, processing supplier invoices and workshop documentation, liaising with the Insurance Department regarding vehicle and plant insurance matters, and producing reports relating to workshop productivity, vehicle availability, and chargeable works. Working closely with internal services, suppliers, and operational teams, you will play a key role in supporting the smooth and compliant operation of the council’s fleet services.</p>

About you
<p>You will be an organised and motivated individual with strong administrative, communication, and customer service skills. You will have experience maintaining accurate records, producing reports, and working with financial or IT based systems. The successful candidate will be confident working across teams, building positive relationships, and managing competing priorities in a busy operational environment. Experience within fleet, transport, workshop, or vehicle management services would be advantageous, along with a proactive approach and strong attention to detail.</p>
