Responsible to the relevant Principal Lawyer for the provision of high-quality legal advice and casework to the Legal Practice team.

Support the service in the delivery and development of Legal Services.

Responsible for implementation and maintenance of land terrier applications and the day to day running of land terrier services, system administration of those systems and management and security of the services land and property information.

Special requirements for this post

Experience of working unsupervised, preferably in a legal services environment and to be able to plan and manage workloads in a methodical manner whilst maintaining accuracy, attention to detail and achieving deadlines.

About you

You will be a Legal Assistant within the Legal Property team, reporting to the Principal Lawyer and be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of land terrier applications and the day to day running of land terrier services including administration and management of those systems and services.

You will use (i) Geographic Information Systems and/or other mapping systems to manage plans and data; (ii) receive as a result of the council’s acquisition and disposal of property, standard pro-forma providing information to update its land and property ownership records as appropriate; (iii) ensure safe keeping, including storage of legal documents and up to date schedules in relation to the Council’s deeds; (iv) work with client departments to ascertain land and boundary ownership and resolve disputes to enable the Councils property portfolio to be guarded.
