<p>Are you an enthusiastic and experienced professional with a knack for leasehold and service charge management? We are looking for a Service Charge Manager to lead our team in ensuring the accurate and timely billing of annual service charges and compliance with statutory Section 20 consultations. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact within the Sales and Leasehold Management Team at Housing, Environment and Communities, (HEC) part of the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham (LBBD).</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <p>• Leadership and Strategy: Use your expert knowledge to lead a team responsible for service charge billing, develop strategies to improve billing accuracy, and maximise service charge and major works income.</p> <p>• Oversee the timely production of year end service charge statements</p> <p>• Accountability: Ensure high levels of accuracy in financial practices and oversee the work of the Service Charge and Section 20 team.</p> <p>• Performance and Standards: Deliver agreed performance and service standard targets, providing the most cost-effective service.</p> <p>• Income Maximisation: Support the income team with technical and expert advice to maximise service charge and related income collections.</p> <p>What You’ll Do:</p> <p>• Customer Support: Deliver a professional, customer-focused service aligned with our DRIVE values, enhancing the customer journey.</p> <p>• Problem Solving: Think on your feet and prioritise your workload to meet statutory and corporate timescales.</p> <p>Team Collaboration: Work as part of a team, supporting colleagues and contributing to service improvements</p>
Special requirements for this post
<p>Qualifications: An accounting and/or housing degree/qualification or relevant experience in leasehold or financial management within the public or private sector.</p> <p>Work Environment: The role is predominantly home-based, but you will be required to come into the office at least once a week. A reliable internet connection is essential</p> <p> </p>
