The role involves working outdoors and PPE will be provided. You will be expected to work with a degree of flexibility to ensure that the service is maintained during operational difficulties or special events. All applicants will be required to hold a valid LGV License, category B + E
Special requirements for this post
To resolve as directed customer enquiries and complaints as they arise during the operation of the service, reporting where necessary to the Line Manager making recommendations and taking appropriate action. To ensure work standards are maintained, ensuring that all areas are left secure and barriers locked. To be responsible for items of plant and vehicles including, large ride on mowers, pedestrian mowers and small plant. Record and report and deliver to work shop for repair. When Directed, provide access to Contractors attending site –Unlocking and locking buildings and carrying out routine health and safety inspections on buildings under the direction of the Housing and Highways Manager / Supervisor. To be responsible for driving a range of non-HGV vehicles as a resource in all areas of the service. Carry out a range of grounds maintenance tasks e.g. grass cutting, raking, edging, weeding, sweeping, litter picking, chemical application etc. Including driving and operating a wide range of vehicles, plant and equipment including vehicle attached machinery, pedestrian and ride on machinery and hand-held equipment to maintain areas such as parks and open spaces, highways verges, cemeteries and housing properties and estates to the required standards.
About you
We are looking for a new Team member to work in the Parks, Green Spaces and Highways . You will be responsible for a wide range of grounds maintenance duties, supporting and working with resources and staff within your team, as well as to ensure schedules are met. You will have knowledge of various plants and machinery used in environmental services, as well as a solid understanding of horticulture. The ideal candidate will have the ability to communicate at all levels, and the ability to value people with diverse skills and perspectives.
