About this job
<p>To lead investigations into a range of reactive and proactive counter fraud work designed to prevent, detect and act upon all aspects of fraud, and other irregularity, in order to protect public funds.</p> <p>This may include any aspect of fraud affecting any service block within the Council and could lead to either Civil, Criminal or Disciplinary investigations being undertaken, or a combination of all three. Keep up to date with relevant legislation and best practice and work with the Counter Fraud Manager to ensure procedures reflect the current legislative requirements. Contribute to, and maintain, comprehensive internal policy and procedural manuals.</p> <p>To support the Counter Fraud Manager in the strategic development of the service by providing a professional service to clients. Keep up to date with relevant legislation and best practice and work with the Assurance Group to ensure procedures reflect the current legislative requirements. Contribute to, and maintain, comprehensive internal policy and procedural manuals. To represent the Assurance team on fraud matters as required.</p>
About you
<p>The successful applicant will be able to work individually or as part of a team on both proactive and reactive fraud assignments. Keen to learn and further develop their existing skills and expertise. Flexible to meet the needs of the role and confident in using modern technological investigation tools.</p><p> </p>
