<p><p><strong>Lead the Future of Secure Cloud and Infrastructure Services</strong></p></p><p><p>We are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Cloud Technology Engineer to join our IT Operations team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a leading role in supporting, developing, and enhancing critical IT services that underpin the delivery of vital services across the Council.</p></p><p><p>As a senior technical specialist, you will be responsible for managing and improving a diverse technology estate spanning Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Windows Server Infrastructure, Active Directory, Security Platforms, Storage, and Backup Solutions. You will also act as a key escalation point for complex technical issues, provide technical leadership across projects, and help shape the future direction of our infrastructure and security services.</p></p><p><p>If you are passionate about cloud technologies, cyber security, service improvement, and delivering resilient solutions that make a real difference, we would love to hear from you.</p></p><p><p><strong>What You'll Be Doing</strong></p></p><p><p>As a Senior Cloud Technology Engineer, you will:</p></p><p><ul></p><p><li>Provide advanced 2nd and 3rd line technical support for critical infrastructure services.</li></p><p><li>Lead the investigation and resolution of major incidents and complex technical issues.</li></p><p><li>Identify root causes of recurring problems and implement permanent improvements.</li></p><p><li>Design, deploy, and support Microsoft Azure services including identity, networking, security, monitoring, and virtualisation.</li></p><p><li>Manage and enhance Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, Intune, Microsoft Entra, Conditional Access, and Defender for Office 365.</li></p><p><li>Maintain Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and related infrastructure.</li></p><p><li>Monitor and maintain infrastructure performance, security posture, capacity, and lifecycle management.</li></p><p><li>Lead technical input into projects, change management processes, CAB discussions, and architecture decisions.</li></p><p><li>Develop and maintain high-quality documentation, standards, operational procedures, and runbooks.</li></p><p><li>Mentor and support colleagues, helping build technical capability across the team and wider IT service.</li></p><p><li>Work collaboratively across IT Operations, Security, Projects, and wider Council services to deliver reliable and secure technology services.</li></p><p></ul></p><p> </p>

<p><p><strong>What We're Looking For</strong></p></p><p><p><strong>Essential Skills & Experience</strong></p></p><p><ul></p><p><li>Significant experience supporting enterprise infrastructure and cloud environments.</li></p><p><li>Strong experience designing, configuring, implementing and administering Microsoft Azure services.</li></p><p><li>Expertise in Microsoft technologies, including:</li></p><p><ul></p><p><li>Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, Intune, Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, Microsoft Defender, Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP</li></p><p></ul></p><p><li>Experience managing security incidents, vulnerabilities, and cyber security controls.</li></p><p><li>Demonstrable experience troubleshooting complex, multi-disciplinary technical issues.</li></p><p><li>Experience working with suppliers and third-party support providers.</li></p><p><li>Strong understanding of ITIL service management principles.</li></p><p><li>Excellent documentation and communication skills.</li></p><p><li>Ability to translate technical issues into business impacts and outcomes.</li></p><p><li>Experience leading technical projects and infrastructure improvements.</li></p><p><li>Knowledge of information governance, GDPR, and data retention controls.</li></p><p></ul></p><p> </p>
