<p><strong> </strong></p> <p><strong>Job Purpose: To Promote the Education of Children in Care to LBBD</strong></p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Specific Accountabilities of the Role</strong></p> <p><strong> </strong></p> <ul> <li>Work to ensure that students are supported to move successfully into education, training or employment</li> <li>Undertake educational interventions where required for children placed both in and out of borough</li> <li>Liaise directly with other professionals and agencies with regards to educational attainment and education placements. Support and contribute to multi-agency working across LBBD and out of borough</li> <li>Track, monitor and evaluate the attainment and progress of identified cohort and report as required</li> <li>Advise designated teachers, social workers and leaving care advisors to support the raising of attainment and the journey of young people in education, with a specific focus on the transition support needs of young people</li> <li>Advise social workers and foster carers with regards to the expectations of young people in relation to education qualifications</li> <li>Attend relevant panels and work with other organisations and agencies on projects that improve the educational outcomes of our students</li> <li>Attend meetings to support the education of students and contribute to the reviews of students as appropriate.</li> <li>Support the Deputy Head Teacher with planning and delivering appropriate training for social workers, foster carers, designated teachers, leaving care advisors and other professionals.</li> <li>Work with SEN colleagues to ensure provision is appropriate for looked after children placed in independent schools or in education provision provided by the residential care placement</li> <li>Attending re-integration meetings in support of the child in care, the social worker and the foster carer</li> <li>Advise foster carers and social workers on relevant LA / education establishment procedures including admissions, SEN, attendance and exclusions.</li> <li>Lead on the Aspire Higher Cohort and plan activities that motivate them into remaining focused in education</li> </ul> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p><strong>Statutory requirements</strong></p> <p> </p> <p>None</p> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p><strong>General Accountabilities and Responsibilities </strong></p> <p> </p> <p><u>Customer Care </u></p> <p><u> </u></p> <p>Provide services that are fair and accessible to all.</p> <p> </p> <p><u>Project management</u></p> <p>Undertake assigned projects, ensuring that agreed outcomes are delivered on time, within budget and to the expected standard.</p> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p><u>General Accountabilities and Responsibilities </u><u>(All roles)</u></p> <p><u> </u></p> <ul> <li>Ensure compliance with appropriate legislation, Council Policies, the Council Constitution</li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Ensure high standards of records management and assume responsibility for all information assigned to the post.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Promote the development of a high-quality individual need led service, t</li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Ensure compliance with and actively promote Health and Safety at work legislation, Council and Service H&S policies and procedures.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Comply with the competencies and standard requisites agreed by the Council as relevant to your post.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Comply with the General Data Protection Regulation and Data Protection Act</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Take responsibility for continuing self-development and participate in training and development activities.</li> </ul> <p>And any other duties as required by management</p>

Our role is to champion the educational achievement, attendance, wellbeing, and personal development of looked-after children, ensuring they are supported to thrive both academically and emotionally.</p> <p data-start="884" data-end="1310">The Aspire Virtual School works collaboratively with schools, social care teams, carers, designated teachers, health professionals, and external agencies to remove barriers to learning and promote positive outcomes. We attend and contribute to Personal Education Plan (PEP) meetings, monitor educational progress and attendance, challenge underachievement, and provide advice, guidance, and targeted intervention where needed.</p> <p data-start="1312" data-end="1704">As a Virtual School, we do not operate as a physical school; instead, we act as a strategic education service that oversees and promotes the educational progress of children in care across all educational settings. We are committed to raising aspirations, improving inclusion, supporting transitions, and ensuring that every child receives the encouragement and advocacy they need to succeed.</p> <p data-start="1706" data-end="2004">Our team is driven by a strong belief that all children, regardless of their circumstances, deserve the opportunity to realise their potential.
