About this job

This is a 1 year fixed term post which sits within Barking and Dagenham’s Rapid Response Team. Post holders will need to be flexible and creative in their approach to supporting children and families, responding swiftly and effectively to ensure the right support is delivered at the right time.

Rapid Response has a key role in supporting and advising on levels of need for children and families and ensuring that the right services are delivered at the right time by the right people. The fundamental focus of this role is to work with colleagues to identify and provide support to those children and families referred into Targeted Early Help that would benefit from a short, intense intervention and prevent the need for longer term work within the service. In addition, where it is unclear what the best response will be for a child and family, the post holder will undertake home visits to clarify what is needed and ensure the correct level of support is identified as quickly as possible.

Post holders will need to develop extensive knowledge of support available in order to provide effective advice and guidance and work with colleagues across the multi-agency partnership to ensure a seamless approach for children and families • The service uses an integrated model of practice that involves a ‘Team Around the Family’ approach that is trauma-informed and relational. Assessing need and risk in line with the LBBD Multi-Agency continuum of need of Need document is critical to ensure that children and families receive the appropriate level of support in a timely manner and ensuring children’s safeguarding is paramount. • Rapid Response is a busy service and the postholder will need to thrive in a fast-paced environment. • Family Support Workers in Rapid Response will deliver a high-quality service in line with the practice standards and the CARES Framework:
