Ashford Borough Council is offering an exciting opportunity to join our Environmental Health service as a Regulatory Compliance Apprentice in the Food & Health and Safety Team. This role is based in our Food and Health & Safety Team
This is your chance to build a career in regulatory and environmental health, gaining practical experience while completing a nationally recognised qualification.
What would you be doing?
Ever wondered what happens behind the scenes to keep people safe?
As an apprentice, you will:
Support the investigation of complaints and service requests from residents and businesses
Support inspections and audits across a range of environments
Work directly with residents and businesses to help them meet legal requirements
Contribute to enforcement activity where needed
Support and carry out sampling activities where required
Work in partnership with other agencies and the community
Develop skills in data collection, reporting and customer service
Gain a broad understanding of how local authority regulatory services operate

You will also need to have:
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (insured for business use)
Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends
Ability to safely carry out site-based inspection activities
