Independent Living Officer

We are looking for enthusiastic and committed individual to provide housing support to our Dahlia Housing tenants ensuring that they can continue to live independently in their homes and can play as full and active role in their community as they wish.
The Council’s Dahlia Housing accommodation provides supported independent living with a benefit of an Independent Living Officer available Monday – Thursday 8-4.30pm and Friday’s 8-4pm. In addition to this the schemes are covered 24/7 by our Lifeline provision supported by Lifeline Anytime.
If you can answer “yes” to these questions you may be just who we’re looking for.
Do you have experience of working with older people?
Can you truly work as part of a team?
Can you liaise with other professionals to enable older people to maintain their independence by providing support, sometimes in an emergency?
Do you have experience of managing buildings and reporting repairs?
Are you capable of maintaining accurate records, including use of a computer?
Can you encourage tenants to play an active role in organising their own social activities?
Do you have your own transport to travel across the whole Borough?
There is a requirement for the post holder to work on call out of hours on occasions.
The post holder must maintain at all times a satisfactory Enhanced report from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
